FEATURED BILL: FREE BREAKFAST & LUNCH IN PUB. SCH. UNITS

Providing free, healthy school meals for all helps reduce childhood hunger, enhance academic achievement, and end the stigma created by means-tested programs. 

That’s why Rep. Gill, along with her colleagues, Reps. Brockman, Quick, and Autry, introduced the Free Breakfast & Lunch in Pub. Sch. Units bill last April.

The bill would appropriate the funds to provide free breakfast and lunch to students in public schools throughout the state. 

While the federal government announced it would extend its free meal program for all through this summer, North Carolina students deserve a permanent program they can count on.
